Accessibility at Convo
Our commitment
Every object has something to say — to every visitor. Convo Guide runs in the visitor’s own browser with no app to install, and accessibility is part of how the product is built and tested, not an add-on: it is reviewed in code, checked automatically on every change, and re-validated for each release.
Conformance status
The Convo Guide visitor web app conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA (self-assessed). Our Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) is authored on the VPAT® 2.5 INT template, covering WCAG 2.1, the Revised Section 508 standards (US), and EN 301 549 (EU) in one document.
Public institutions can use the ACR directly in procurement — including for ADA Title II (which references WCAG 2.1 AA) and European Accessibility Act / EN 301 549 requirements.
What this looks like for visitors
Every narrated stop shows a synchronized transcript; the voice guide provides live captions and a running transcript; and everything the AI docent can do by voice it can also do by text chat — no feature requires hearing or speech.
The player and conversation are fully keyboard-operable and screen-reader friendly (a proper seek slider, announced replies and status), with pinch-zoom enabled, strong color contrast, respect for reduced-motion preferences, and tours in the visitor’s own language with correctly tagged multilingual content.
How we test
Conformance is backed by a code-level audit of every visitor surface, automated axe-core scanning wired into our CI so every change is checked before it ships, and a scripted live audit that exercises the real product — the playing audio guide, a live AI conversation, the voice interface, keyboard flows, reflow, text spacing, and reduced motion. The report is re-issued with each substantive release, and screen-reader spot-checks are part of ongoing release QA.

Feedback
If you hit an accessibility barrier anywhere in Convo, tell us at accessibility@convo.app. Reports go into the same pipeline as functional defects and are prioritized accordingly.
